What is your late policy for reservations?

We are happy to hold your table 15 minutes past the reservation time. After that time expires we may need to expedite your service to allow proper time for cleaning between reservations. If we have free tables elsewhere in the restaurant when you arrive we will be more than happy to accommodate you there.

Helpful Tips When You're Running Late:

Give us a call - If you know that you'll run late, please call or e-mail us to let us know. The more heads up that you give, the better we can plan for you and your table.

Our reservation system, Tock, takes excellent notes on guest activity. It tracks all moves that a reservation makes in this building. If there is a concern regarding accuracy of reservation time, Tock can solve it. Ask to speak to a manager upon arrival to sort out any issues you may have with your late reservation.

Tock will send you a text 45 minutes prior to your reservation to remind you. You can also respond to this text message to let us know you are running behind.

Are Reservations Required?

While reservations are not required they are strongly encouraged. As everything is made in house the kitchen prepares for a certain amount each night and once that is booked we are unable to accept additional parties. Please give us a call at (512)394-8150 for same day bookings!

What dietary restrictions can you accommodate on the chef’s tasting menu?

Our Chefs are more than happy to accommodate nearly every allergy or restriction. As our menu is more limited at this time, we are requiring a day’s notices & chef approval for all allergies. Currently, we are unable to accommodate severe restrictions (such as vegan & paleo diets). Celiac, vegetarian, dairy free, nut & shellfish as well as many others will be happily accommodated. Be sure to alert us of any allergy or restrictions when you make a reservation/speak to a member of our host team.

How do I book a large party?

Please email us at Reservations@barleyswine.com to book parties greater than 5. This number does include all babies and children joining your group.

Where do I park when I come to Barley Swine?

Due to COVID-19 we are unable to offer valet parking at this time. Guests are welcome to park on the north side of our parking lot. Please do not park directly in front of PAZ Vet as they use those spots for emergency visits. Guests are also welcome to park in the parking lot on Burnet Lane behind the restaurant. If you are having trouble finding parking, please do not hesitate to give us a call and our host team will provide further instructions.

Is there a dress code at Barley Swine?

There is no dress code. We're very Austin casual, jeans are fine, shorts are fine, whatever you're comfortable in!

Do you allow dogs on your patio?

No, we currently do not allow dogs on our patio.

Can I Walk In And Sit At The Bar?

Unfortunately we are unable to seat any walk-ins at this time; please make a reservation or call us day of. If we have a seat available we’d be happy to save it for you.

How long does it take to dine at Barley Swine?

The steps we have taken to keep our guests and staff safe during the pandemic have resulted in a quicker meal; plan on dining for 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours. Allergies & restrictions may take slightly longer.

Does the whole table have to enjoy the tasting menu when booking?

We require full table participation for our Chef’s Tasting menu, as we have found in the past that guest’s experience suffers when tables are split between the two menus.

Is The Online Menu Up To Date?

Most likely, but we have an ever changing menu so for the most accurate menu please call the restaurant directly.

Can we split the tasting menu between 2 diners?

No, as some of the courses are only a single bite, we do not allow guests to share or split a tasting menu.

Do you have a corkage fee?

At Barley Swine we serve liquor, due to Texas state laws we are unable to allow outside alcohol.

What is the gratuity policy at Barley Swine?

We are currently including 20% gratuity on all dine in checks for parties of any size. We are confident our staff is providing excellent service to all guests and taking extra measures to keep everyone safe. If you feel this is not enough you are welcome to leave more. If you feel this is too generous please ask to speak with a manager.
